These instructions are for all computers with Microsoft Windows XP. The instructions may or may not work with third-party wireless cards. If you have a third-party wireless card, please see the manufacturer's configuration guide.

If you have a wireless management utility, please refer to your user guide for instructions, or disable it and follow these instructions.

Make sure your wireless card is enabled before attempting to connect to the wireless network. Please refer to your laptop's user guide for information on enabling your wireless card.

To configure your Windows XP computer for use with the "WCC Campus" wireless network:

Before connecting your Windows XP computer to the wireless network, please make sure your operating system and anti-virus software are current.

If you don't have anti-virus software installed, and you are a faculty or staff member, or a student in the University of Hawaii (UH) system, you may download and install McAfee's anti-virus solution from UH. Further information can be found at http://128.171.41.97/antivirus/.

For help or to report problems with the wireless network, contact the ACS HelpLine at 235-7314 or wcc-help@lists.hawaii.edu, or stop by the ACS office in No'eau 121.
