The Kuhi La'au Tropical Plant and Orchid Identification Facility: Inouye and Rifai Collections is located in Hale Imiloa, Room 112-A. It was dedicated on February 9, 2000.

The facility provides a free plant identification service, focusing on plants of Hawaii, tropical plants of Asia and the Pacific, and orchids. Fresh samples of branches, flowers or fruits should be sent to the facility. Information regarding plant names and ethnobotanical uses will be mailed to the sender within a week.
